NOMEX

History:  Nomex is Du Pont's registered trademark for a nylon related manmade fibre.  Nomex is an inherently flame resistant fibre and provides a high degree of protection against radiant and convective heat.  This product meets NFPA 1977-1998 standards on protective clothing.

Protection:  When flame comes into contact with Nomex, it simply chars and will not support combustion.  Because Nomex is an inherent flame resistant fabric, the fire-protection will not wash out.

NOMEX IS AVAILABLE IN TWO TYPES:  NOMEX III AND NOMEX IIIA

Comfort:  Although texts have proven that NOMEX III is comfortable to wear in nearly all work environments, it is not inherently a "breathable" fabric, and does tend to get hot in some situations.  NOMEX IIIA has the same protective fibre as above, but has an added inherent anti-static feature.

Cleaning Instructions :  Nomex garments can be cleaned by home or commercial laundering or by drycleaning procedures.  Drycleaning will reduce the chance of shrinkage.

Pre-treat greasy stains with a mild stain remover such as "Spray N' Wash" or "Shout".

Launder garments of Nomex only with other garments of Nomex.

Wash garments in Hot water with a detergent.  Do not bleach.  We recommend that you tumble dry for 5 minutes, then hang to dry to reduce shrinkage.

NOMEX WILL REDUCE BURNS BY APPROXIMATELY 67% COMPARED TO UNTREATED COTTON.
