History: Firewear FFR Fabric is trademarked by Springs Protective Fabrics. The fiber is a patented, engineered modacrylic which contains flame retadant chemicals. It is blended with 45% cotton. It meets or exceeds all NFPA 1975 - 90 criteria. Protection: When flame comes into contact with this fabric, the FR action begins to release non-combustible gasses through microscopic pores in the fiber, thus smothering the fire much like the Halogen-type action of a fire extinguisher, preventing the cotton from burning. Unlike chemical treated fabrics, Firewear will not wash out. Comfort: Firewear is a breathable, soft, but durable fabric which is comfortable to wear. It retains the essential comfort factors (such as air permeability and moisture transmission) of cotton. Cleaning Instructions: Firewear can be cleaned by home or commercial laundering or by drycleaning procedures. Drycleaning will reduce the chance of shrinkage. Turn garment inside out before laundering. Pre-treat stains if needed with a reputable stain remover. Use detergent but no fabric softeners or starch. Wash temperature should not exceed 140 F and should be a PH of 10 or lower. We recommend that you tumble dry for 5 minutes, then hang to dry to reduce shrinkage. |
